I used a brand new, professional set of pastels flown all the way back from Paris - thank you hubby -  and chose to paint this serenity scene which I photographed at Bucks County Park's Lake Luxembourg in Langhorne, PA. I needed to illustrate a sense of comfort and healing for me.
I have frequently visited this beautiful park creating memories, and I have equally enjoyed spending time there with my own kids (and dog). Painting this natural scene with its own peaceful color scheme helped me feel relaxed and better, especially when I added the white soaring birds to the last layer.

Sharpening pastel pencils are the worst thing in the whole world!
