Wildwood Fishermen
This was completed as a plein air painting and my oil pastels were actually melting and sliding - making it a bit easier to draw! With the scenery always changing, I could gently glide and mix different colors together when needed.
Sitting on my beach blanket, I chose to study the two men wading in the ocean. The waves, water and air were always moving along with the man’s arms (on the right). He had wandered up to the uninterested man (notice his shrugged shoulders on the left) to explain how to fish his way properly.
